Karl Obsession – What I did next!

Ok – so the event I have been tracking down by the second happened today –  Karl’s Kult launch on Net-a-Porter.com (yey)…at 3pm (not so yey).

Why? At 3pm, on a Wednesday (or any given day for that matter), I happen to be at work.

And when I am at work, I am REALLY and FULLY at work. I might share someday how a typical day at work goes – but the only thing I will mention now is that it involves a lot of running (and no I am not athlete …).

And a lot of running means that there is NO time for me to even think about anything except for the task at hand. In my pre-baby life, that was different, I had all the time in the world to have coffees with collegues, leasurely browse the internet during the lunch break. Now, as a working mummy with timings deadlines, I actually don’t even allow for a lunch break anymore.

So imagine my frustration while running (again) from one meeting to another (how can you be on time for a meeting at 3pm  when you were just before in a finishing at 3pm… unless they are in the same room – which of course they never are) and checking my blackberry for any important/urgent/life threatening email (or at least this is how it feels like some times), I received this “Karl’s Kult has finally arrived at net-a-porter” – which is code for “you have to go NOW and shop it before it runs out!”.

Patience, patience.

5 hours later – as soon as the little man was in bed- I ran (again …there is definitely a theme here) to log into my computer and FINALLY discover the long awaited reveal.

Only way I can describe it is : Karl’s style, now for girls (you can see my marketing training at work in the snappiness of that slogan, n’est-ce pas?)

So yes: Black&White, Skinny trousers, Several interpretations of high collared shirts, Leathers & Glitter – Glamy yummy!

But, despite the excitement, I could not really settle on something, a straight “coup de foudre” (and when I did, it was only to realise it was already out of stock…damn you 3pm launch).

When finally,  I made up my mind I picked the item that screamed Karl the loudest – how fanatic is that?- which is basically a vest with Karl’s picture on.

The ultimate proof I am a die-hard Karl fan? I am decided to buy it despite Hubby’s ploys to discourage me with arguments such as “if you want a short with Karl’s picture on, I am sure this can be arranged at 10% of the price”.

Pfff, yes right*

What do you think?

* I secretly wonder if Karl actually touched the clothes…probably not…but a girl’s gotta dream…maybe of meeting Karl…
